Book Launch: Devotion

Join us in launching Devotion: Today’s Future Becomes Tomorrow’s Archive, edited by Jarrett Earnest, from 5-7pm at Olga Korper Gallery (17 Morrow Avenue, Toronto) on Wednesday June 22, 2022!

Queer people have had to create and maintain archives as alternate repositories due to systematic exclusion from traditional archival practices and institutions. Propelled by the editor’s meticulous collecting and explorations of experimental living practices and embodied materiality, this book is a beautifully designed, radical collection of overlooked and forgotten IBPOC and LGBTQ2S+ archives.

The book contains essays and interviews, reproductions of notes, diagrams, works of art, and rare ephemera representing an archive of overlooked and excluded material.

Limited numbers of the book will be available for purchase at the launch.

This is a special book publication in conjunction with PUBLIC journal issue 65 and The Formless Body exhibition. Supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Partners in Art, and Archive/Counter-Archive.
